Sabbath Keeping

"A merry heart does good like medicine..."

"You have as much laughter as you have faith."
"If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane."
"The earth laughs in flowers."
"Laughter is the hand of God on the shoulder of a troubled world." ~ unknown
"Pity the poor guy who bought a cemetery plot--then took a cruise and was lost at sea."
~ Norm Crosby
"A pessimist has no starter. An optimist has no brakes."
"As an aircraft landed at the airport, a flight attendant made this announcement:
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have a very special person on board this evening. He is ninety-six years old today, and this is his very first flight. As you deplane this evening, please stop by the cockpit and wish our captain Happy Birthday!"
"I don't trust anyone who doesn't laugh."
"With mirth and laughter let old winkles come." ~ Shakespeare ~
"Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe.
Four be the things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne
Three be the things I shall have till I die:
Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye."
"Those who do not know how to weep with their whole heart don't know how to laugh either." ~ Golda Meir ~
"Laughter is carbonated holiness."
"You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing."
~ Michael Pritchard ~
"We don't laugh because we're happy;
we're happy because we laugh!"
"A boy took his baby sister fishing while his parents went shopping. "I'll never do that again!" he told his parents that evening. "I didn't catch a thing."
"Was she too noisy?" asked his mother.
"It wasn't that," the boy said. "She ate all the bait."
"The second day of a diet is always easier than the first. By the second day you're off it."
"Enjoy the little things. One day you may look back
and realize...they were the big things."
"A friend is one who strengthens you with prayers,
blesses you with love,
and encourages you with hope.
"Aging gracefully means living long enough to make a joke of the things that were once breaking your heart."
"When someone says, "Life is hard," ask him, "Compared to what?"
"Laughter is contagious...start an epidemic!"

"Rejoice with those who rejoice... ."

If you'd like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names will be kept for one week, then we begin again. Around the world, people are praying.

  5. Such a beautiful post! Always a pleasure to come visit here. Prayer for Ed and Cheri and their hateful bitterness toward their oldest son. Life is too short for this behavior.
Thank you and many blessings to you!

  6. What a wonderful post. I do believe that laughter has cured us of many ills. It has kept me going sometimes when the road was so tough I was afraid to look ahead. Blessings to you and praying for those that need prayer- xo Diana

  7. Last night at a wedding, there was a dance for the married couples. They weeded them out, year by year and each one married over 30 years got to give advice to the newly marrieds. I told them to keep a good sense of humor....I am sending them this post! Laughter IS the best defense!
