Sabbath Keeping

"Sow to yourselves in righteousness,
reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground:
for it is time to seek the Lord,
till he come and rain righteousness upon you."

"Everyone who believes in God at all believes that he knows what you and I are going to do tomorrow." ~ C. S. Lewis ~
"The more we depend upon God the more dependable we find he is." ~ Cliff Richard ~
"If God is your partner
make your plans BIG!"
"What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer."
"The Universe is centered on neither the earth nor the sun.
It is centered on God."
"The world will never starve for want of wonders." ~ C. K. Chesterton ~
"Only God can fully satisfy the hungry heart of man."
~ Hugh Black
"I suddenly saw that all the time it was not I who had been seeking god, but God who had been seeking me. I had made myself the centre of my own existence and had my back turned to God." ~ Bede Griffiths
"If you believe what you like in the gospels,
and reject what you don't like,
it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself."
"Were there no God,
we would be in this glorious world
with grateful hearts
 and no one to thank."
"I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in." ~ George Washington Carver ~
"God's gifts put man's best dreams to shame." ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning
"God never uses a person until He has wounded him greatly.
The privilege He offers you is greater than the price you have to pay.
The privilege is greater than the price."
"God knows the secret plan of the things he will do for the world, using my hand."
"Without the Way there is no going;
without the Truth there is no knowing;
without the Life there is no living."
"Is your place a small place? Tend it with care, He set you there.
Is your place a large place? Guard it with care! He set you there.
Whate'er your place, it is not yours alone, but his Who set you there."
"To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances;
To seek him, the greatest adventure;
To find him, the greatest human achievement."
"Most of us wait until we're in trouble, and then we pray like the dickens. Wonder what would happen if, some morning, we'd wake up and say, "Anything I can do for You today, Lord?" ~ Burton Hillis ~
"We remain such creeping Christians
because we look at ourselves instead of Christ."

"But without faith it is impossible to please him;
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

If you'd like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names will be kept for one week unless the name is given each week. Around the world, people are praying.

yep - as we say - go big or go home - Great Sabbath Keeping and all of us who pray need to remember not to try to make Him a "tame Lion" - thanks

The more we depend on God, the more dependable we find He is. I have found this to be so true. Thanks for all the golden nuggets today!
@LindaSue, "tame Lion" reminds me of the video series we are doing in our extended family Bible studies. "The Sovereignty of God".

Wonderful words of encouragement. Reminds me of how God is our fortress in this crazy, mixed up world. ~:)

Christy and I got to go hear Alistar McGrath speak at Wheaton College last week. He just finished a book on C.S. Lewis and it was such a delightful evening.

Happy Sunday.
Fondly,
Glenda

I look forward to your Sunday posts. Ever since I started reading them I've been devoting more of my thoughts toward God, relaxing and reveling in His gifts. Thank you.

Sandra, again I've printed this out will keep it out by the chair where I have my quiet time. It is amazing how often they are just the verses and quotes that speak to my need that week.

Stay safe in the coming week. I hope you don't get too much more snow now.
