Sabbath Keeping

~ wild turkey ~

"Sow with a view to righteousness
Reap in accordance with kindness;
Break up your fallow ground,
for it is time to seek the LORD until
He comes to rain righteousness on you."
~ Hosea 10:12

"If I had eight hours to chop down a tree,
I'd spend six sharpening my axe."
~ Abraham Lincoln ~

"Another way to be prepared is to think negatively. Yes, I'm a great optimist, but, when trying to make a decision, I often think of the worst case scenario. I call it 'the eaten by wolves factor.' If I do something, what's the most terrible thing that could happen? Would I be eaten by wolves? One thing that makes it possible to be an optimist, is if you have a contingency plan for when all hell breaks loose. There are a lot of things I don't worry about because I have a plan in place if they do." ~ Randy Pausch ~
"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today."
~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr. ~
"Unfortunately, there seems to be far more opportunity out there than ability. ...We should remember that good fortune often happens when opportunity meets with preparation."
~ Thomas A. Edison ~
"Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation." ~ Robert H. Schuller ~
"Worrying paralyzes progress; prayer, preparation and persistence ensures it." ~ T. F. Hodge ~
"To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace." ~ George Washington ~
"Fortune favors the prepared mind." ~ Louis Pasteur ~
"I say luck is when an opportunity comes along and you're prepared for it." ~ Denzel Washington ~

"By failing to prepare,
you are preparing to fail."
Benjamin Franklin ~

"Therefore be ye also ready:
for in such an hour as ye think not
the Son of man cometh."
~ Matthew 24:44 ~

  5. Wow, Sandra! Have you been reading my mail? I'm not familiar with the verse from Hosea but I sure need it! I know I'm going to be thinking about being prepared now--and obviously preparing must be done.

    Persistence! Onward!

  6. I just read something similar in another blog -- that when expectations are low or lower, having them surpassed is much easier! Lovely post!
