"...No weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD."
~ Isaiah 54:17 ~
"God never made a promise that was too good to be true." ~ D. L. Moody ~

"God's promises are like the stars.
The darker the night, the brighter they sign."
~ David Nicholas ~
"Most of the time God's promises are in your reach.
They are not in your hand. You have to go get them." ~ unknown ~
"You see, faith opens the door to God's promise for you. And patience keeps it open until that promise is fulfilled." ~ Kenneth Copeland ~
"God has promised forgiveness for your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow to your procrastination." ~ Augustine of Hippo ~
"The stars may fall but God's promises will stand and be fulfilled." J. L. Packer ~
"Let God's promises shine on your problems." ~ Corrie ten Boom ~
"I had a choice: I could believe the lies of the devil, in which case I was on my way to suicide, or I could believe in the promises of God, and be taken through my time of trial." ~ Angus Buchan, Faith Like Potatoes ~
"One of the most poisonous of all Satan's whispers is simply, "Things will never change." That lie kills expectation, trapping our heart forever in the present. To keep desire alive and flourishing, we must renew our vision for what lies ahead. Things will not always be like this. Jesus has promised to "make all things new." Eye has not seen, ear has not heard all that God has in store for His lovers, which does not mean "we have no clue so don't even try to imagine, " but rather, you cannot outdream God. Desire is kept alive by imagination, the antidote to resignation. We will need imagination, which is to say, we will need hope."
~ John Eldredge ~
"You are indicting your unbelief by distrusting God's goodness, and you are bringing greater misery upon yourself by disparaging God's blessing. For if you had trust in God's grace and promises, you would undoubtedly be supported. But because you do not hope in the Lord, you will never prosper."
~ Martin Luther ~
"All your days have been written in God's book.
When you go through a disappointment,
don't stop on that page.
Stay the course.
Keep believing.
You may be tired, discouraged, frustrated but
don't give up on your future.
Our God is faithful."
~ unknown ~
~ Timothy Keller ~
"The promise of a dreamer's future will always remain greater than their present ability. God will always give them dreams that are further along than their current level of maturity." ~ Wayne Cordeiro ~
"Every promise of Scripture is a writing of God, which may be pleaded before Him with this reasonable request, "Do as Thou has said." The Heavenly Father will not break his Word to His own child." ~ Charles H. Spurgeon ~
"You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it."
We all go through bad things, trails, tests, disappointments, discouragements, the heart break. Each of us have those things, sometimes it seems in abundance, in our lives; God didn't promise we wouldn't go through those things. He promised to be with us when we do. Keep running your race, walk when you need to and crawl if you have to but keep moving toward Jesus. Do not stop.
"The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness,
but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish
but that all should reach repentance."
~ 2 Peter 3:9 ~
Please pray ~ one for another ~
Hi Sandra, Thank you for a lovely post this Sunday evening. Praying for you. God bless. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMildred, you're welcome and thank you for the prayers. I'm going to try and do a blog post this week...between winter storms.
DeleteDear Sandra, this is a great and amazing theme! I love it! Sometimes I saw amazing fulfillments. My ranger Xaver likes to say: The Spirit is a long waiter but a sure bringer. Sometimes I saw very fast fulfillments. Greetings from the Bavarian Forest to thistle Cove farm from Dori
ReplyDeleteDori, God's promises are all that keep me going. Well, that and the animals...when they're hungry, I gotta get going...smile. Your Xavier is a wise man...loved what he had to say. Greetings to you and yours from Thistle Cove Farm...where I'm preparing for another winter snow storm.
Delete"Stay the course." I think your posts here, ever since I "met" you, have exemplified that, Sandra.
ReplyDeleteI also love Timothy Keller's words, but then I always do.
Dewena, thank you so much for your kindness toward me. I feel I am nearing the end of my strengths...mental, physical, emotional, spiritual. It's an easy thing to say, "God will..." but, for reasons known only to Him, He's not...". I wonder when discouragement turns into depression and what does it matter anyway? I refuse to take drugs, even when they're called meds, so will soldier on. Re. Sabbath Keeping...you do know I'm always preaching to the choir first...right? I'm very happy when these posts mean something to others as well.
DeleteI'm speechless. Just what I needed before bed. Usually one quote or scripture really impacts me. Today they all did. Thank you for putting these all in one place! 😊❤😊
ReplyDeleteAnita, you're so welcome and glad they helped. Please accept my condolences about Bugsy; it's never easy even when it's the right thing to do.
DeleteBeautiful words. I hope you enjoyed the Sabbath, there is another one coming soon :-)
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Yes, Amalia, and in between Sabbath's there's a lotta living to be done...smile. love and prayers to you and yours...
DeleteSending wishes for a lovely day and a good start to the new week. Blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteand to you, Tammy. It's beautiful in your part of the world...and I am, slightly, envious. Warm weather, sunshine...as I prepare for the next onslaught of winter...below zero temps, wind, snow, ice. Oh dear. Perhaps I should go back to bed...lol.
DeleteWhat a wonderfully encouraging post! The line that stuck out for me was this one: "You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it."
ReplyDeleteJesus gives me the strength I need to live each day and I am thankful for that.
Have a lovely week dear Sandra and thank you for taking the time to put these Sabbath posts together each week.
Love & hugs ~ FlowerLady
True, Rainey, although there are days that seem to come all at once lately, where I wonder if I do have the strength. Even with His help. I took a nap today and all I did was a lot of nothing in between getting out of bed and going back to bed. I am weary. You're welcome for the quotes and verses; I'm glad they touch you.
DeleteHi Sandra - I've been thinking of you and hope you are doing okay with all that is on your plate. Take care! Quinn
ReplyDeleteHi Quinn...prepping for the next storm, expected tonight. Temps below zero, wind, snow, ice and 1/4 of my house with no heat. For the past few days, all I've done is tend to the animals; there's nothing left of me to do anything else. Thank you for asking and take care of you too.
Delete{{{ hug }}}
ReplyDeletethinking on this post.
and re-reading it a few
times over. leaving it up on my
laptop so i can stop t/o the day
and read yet again. ♥♥♥
Thanks, Sherry. Hopefully, the quotes and verses spoke to your heart.
DeleteThat church sign reminds me of the passage in I Timothy: "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." Thank you, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Gretchen. Right now, the idea of bodily exercise seems more tempting than the body has energy to do. For the past few days, I've managed to tend to the animals and that's about it. And, lately, that's good enough.
DeleteI know you are tired. I pray for strength and "just right" expectations of yourself. Bed is good. Stay there as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteYep, bed is good, wish I could use it more than it's used. Temps of single digits with wind chills below zero keep me feeding the wood stove every 3 hours. The only expectation I have of me is to keep feeding the stove and the animals. Anything more and the energy simply isn't there. I'm sure God has a plan; His Word says so.
DeleteCorrie Ten Boom's " Let God's promises shine on your problems" and the quote by Moody struck a chord in my heart. Blessings dear sister-in-the-Lord !
ReplyDeleteand God's blessings on you and yours!
DeleteDear Sandra, I just want to say to you here and now:
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful message from you to me, amazing beloved sister in Christ Sandra over the ocean in a wide wide land!
and I meant every word, Dori!
