Sabbath Keeping

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.
Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the
floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room
enough to store it."

"One is not born into the world to do everything
but to do something."
~ Thoreau

"Go the extra mile. It's not crowded."

"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead." ~ Nelson Mandela ~

"Money often costs too much." ~ Emerson ~

"Scientists have discovered that the small, brave act of cooperating with another person, of choosing trust over cynicism, generosity over selfishness, makes the brain light up with quiet joy."
~ Natalie Angier ~

"Let Christ be your example in your giving. In heaven He possessed everything, and yet He sacrificed it all - even His life - so we could be saved." ~ Billy Graham ~

"When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous."
~ Wayne Dyer ~

"I am only one,
but I am one.
I cannot do everything,
but I can do something.
And I will not let what I cannot do
interfere with what I can do."
~ Edward Everett Hale

"Help one another; there's no time like the present and no present like the time."
~ James Durst ~

"I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare. In other words, if our expenditure on comforts, luxuries, amusements, etc., is up to the standard common among those with the same income as our own, we are probably giving away too little." ~ C. S. Lewis

"You are blessed to be a blessing."

"Forgiveness is the giving and so the receiving of life."
~ George MacDonald ~

"But my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
~ Philippians 4:19 ~

Sabbath Keeping

"Then when you call the Lord will answer. "Yes, I am here," he will quickly reply. All you need to do is to stop oppressing the weak and stop making false accusations and spreading vicious rumors! Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden , like an ever-flowing spring."

"It's not how much we give
but how much love we put into giving."

"The measure of your life will not be in what you accumulate,
but in what you give away."  ~ Wayne Dyer ~

"Gracious acceptance is an art - an art which most never bother to cultivate. We think that we have to learn how to give, but we forget about accepting things, which can be much harder than giving... Accepting another person's gift is allowing him to express his feelings for you." ~ Alexander McCall Smith (while you're reading this post, click on this link...happy music!) ~

"Happiness doesn't result from what we get
but from what we give." ~ Ben Carson

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another." ~ Charles Dickens ~

"Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys." ~ P. J. O'Rourke ~

"We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give."

"Do you know know that God entrusted you with that money (all above what buys necessities for your families) to fee the hungry, to cloth the naked, to help the stranger, the widow, the fatherless; and, indeed, as far as it will go, to relieve the wants of all mankind? How can you, how dare you, defraud the Lord by applying it to any other purpose?" ~ John Wesley ~

"You can give without loving,
but you cannot love without giving."

"The wise do not buy into other people's perceptions of who they are and what they are capable of. Instead, they bypass a person's public persona and see who they are in their highest expression. When you see actions taken with integrity, instead of words only, you will then know a soul's worth." ~ Shannon L. Alder ~

"It is the heart that does the giving; the fingers only let go."
~ proverb ~

"For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give - large or small - will be used to measure what is given back to you."  ~ Luke 6:38 ~

Sabbath Keeping

"Light shines in the darkness for the godly.
They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.
Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.
Such people will not be overcome by evil.
Those who are righteous will be long remembered. ...
They share freely and give generously to those in need.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.
They will have influence and honor.

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." ~ Charles Dickens ~
"It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving." ~ Mother Teresa ~
"You can give without loving but you can never love without giving." ~ R. L. Stevenson ~
"For it is in giving, that we receive." ~ St. Francis of Assisi ~
"We make a living by what we get.
We make a life by what we give."
"Let us make one point, that we meet each other with a smile, when it is difficult to smile. Smile at each other, make time for each other in your family." ~ Mother Teresa ~
"Gracious acceptance is an art - an art which most never bother to cultivate. We think that we have to learn how to give, but we forget about accepting things, which can be much harder than giving...Accepting another persons's gift is allowing him to express his feelings for you."
~ Alexander McCall Smith ~
"Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."
~ P. J. O'Rourke ~
"A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal." ~ Steve Maraboli ~
"It's easier to take than to give.
It's nobler to give than to take.
The thrill of taking lasts a day.
The thrill of giving lasts a lifetime."

"Remember this - a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop.
But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
You must each decide in your heart how much to give.
And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure.
"For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."
And God will generously provide all you need.
Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
As the Scriptures say, "They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever."

Let me know if you'd like a name added to the prayer list. Names are kept for one week; around the world, people are praying.
