Sabbath Keeping

~ winging their way home ~
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; from where he sits enthroned, he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds."
"It is the Creator's Grand Army, and He is the Commander-in-Chief... With these facts before you, now try to guess man's chiefest pet name for this ferocious Commander-in-Chief? I will save you the trouble but you must not laugh. It is Our Father in heaven."
~ Mark Twain
"Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal."
"He whose head is in heaven,
need not fear to put his feet into the grave."
"Aim at heaven, and you will get earth thrown in.
Aim at earth and you get neither."
"If there were no hell,
the loss of heaven would be hell."
"I can safely say on the authority of all that is revealed in the word of God, that any man or woman on this earth who is bored or turned off by worship is not ready for heaven."
~ A. W. Tozer
"Charles Fuller (1887-1968), a preacher and director of The Old Fashioned Revival Hour radio program, announced he was going to be speaking the next week on heaven. During that week of preparation, he received a letter from an older man who was very ill:
Next Sunday you are to talk about heaven. I am interested in that land, because I have held a clear title to a bit of property there for over 55 years. I did not buy it. It was given to me without money and without price. But the Donor purchased it for me at tremendous sacrifice. I am not holding it for speculation since it is not transferable. It is not a vacant lot. For more than half a century I have been sending materials out of which the greatest Architect and Builder of the universe has been building a home for which will never need to be remodeled or repaired because it will suit me perfectly, individually, and will never grow old. Termites can never undermine its foundations for they rest on the rock of ages. Fire cannot destroy it. Floods cannot wash it away. No locks nor bolts will ever be placed upon its doors, for no vicious person can ever enter than land where my dwelling stands, now almost completed and almost ready for me to enter in and abide in peace eternally, without fear of being ejected. There is a valley of deep shadow between the place where I live in California and that to which I shall journey in a very short time. I cannot reach my home in that City of God without passing through this dark valley of shadows. But I am not afraid because the best Friend I ever had went through the same valley long, long ago and drove away all its gloom. He has stuck by me through thick and thin since we first became acquainted 55 years ago, and I hold His promise in printed form, never to forsake me or leave me alone. He will be with me as I walk through the valley of shadows, and I shall not lose my way when He is with me. I hope to hear your sermon on heaven next Sunday from my home in Los Angeles, California, but I have no assurance that I shall be able to do so. My ticket to heaven has no dated marked for the journey, no return coupon, and no permit for baggage. Yes, I am all ready to go and I may not be here while you are talking next Sunday evening, but I shall meet you there some day."

"I'm ready to go but I'm not homesick."
~ Jim Bennett ~
"Let not your heart be troubled:
ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house there are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you."
~ John 14:1-7 ~

If you'd like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Unless told otherwise, names stay on the list for one month; around the world, people are praying.

Hi Sandra, What a peaceful photo you have shared today. I'm beginning to feel a slight coolness in the mornings and the trees are beginning to lose their leaves here in GA. I especially love the last Bible passage you have shared today. Mama's favorite hymn was Come Home, It's Suppertime.

Heaven is a wonderful place. Filled with glory and grace. I want to see my Savior's face! Heaven is a wonderful place!
Bill and I used to sing that song when we'd visit a tiny full gospel church just a short drive from our college.
