Sabbath Keeping

"Blessed is he that considereth the poor;
the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive;
and he shall be blessed upon the earth:
and thou wilt not deliver him until the will of his enemies."

"It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."
~ Mother Teresa ~
"A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog." ~ Jack London ~
"When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed." ~ Maya Angelou ~
"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed,
revived, reclaimed, and redeemed.
Remember if you ever need a helping hand,
you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands,
one for helping yourself
and the other for helping others."
"No one has ever become poor by giving." ~ Anne Frank ~
"You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you." ~ John Bunyan ~
"I care not for a man's religion whose dogs and cat are not the better for it."
~ Abe Lincoln ~
"Charity, if you have the means, is a personal choice, but charity which is expected or compelled is simply a polite word for slavery."
~ Terry Goodkind, The Pillars of Creation ~
"If you're in the luckiest one percent of humanity, you owe to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent." ~ Warren Buffet ~
"What I spent, I had;
what I saved, I lost;
what I gave, I have."
~ proverb ~
"Doing nothing for others is the undoing of ourselves." ~ Horace Mann ~

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
~ Luke 6:38

If you'd like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names will be kept one week; around the world, people are praying.

  1. Mother Teresa hoarded millions of dollars from high power thieves and political figures while at the same time, telling the poor to keep having babies, living in poverty, and keeping her 'health' centers for women barren of actually being healthy for human beings because she was too greedy and didn't practice what she preached. And preached quite a bit of ignorant and hate speech as well. We can assume she was ignorant and merely a mortal and that is why she did this, if we choose to, or that she was corrupt and a liar, or both, but either way, these are facts. Look them up and challenge beliefs you hold because you likely hold them based on the fact you've never been taught to think critically, much less about things others have told you. Especially if it comes from sources like churches, media, presidents, and others you might consider to be leaders, you are taught to not question, but to merely accept their words as fact. But questioning things, and this is only one person, Mother Teresa was, only one thing I'm mentioning, in the long list of things you should dare to be intellectually honest with yourself about and challenge. Reality is important. People are important. You are important. Important enough to critically explore that which you claim to believe. I think you owe it to yourself. I hope you think so too. Don't take my word for it, don't take anyone one's word for it. Research it. Find out the facts. Not just about Teresa, but about belief, faith, religion, deities, even things you might have been taught are bad like atheism, how can you know if you've never looked objectively at these things for yourself. If you are entrusting your life to such things enough to make it a part of your life, then I would hope you are intelligent enough to research and explore and challenge yourself and continually growing and learning. Good luck to you.

  2. I enjoyed your post. I hope you have a wonderful first week of fall. It is more blessed to give than to receive. I hope you will be blessed because of your giving, and the mantle of Christ's that you wear, sharing as you are able, in word, and deed. Blessings to you on the farm!

  8. Sarah, the well of deep pain from which you speak must seem never ending. It is not. God stands at the ready, and has called to you many times already, for you to come to Him. He loves you with a never ending love but He will not force you. He desires you to use the brain He bestowed upon you but He will not force you. All of us are "merely mortals", all of us will face eternity in either heaven or hell. It's our choice.
    I wonder how you know what I believe; have you asked? I believe God's Word is a lamp unto my feet and lights the way to a heavenly eternity because I accepted Christ as Savior and Lord.
    Where are you spending eternity?

    Annie, I'm going to take some photos, this next month and will post, thanks for asking.

    Mildred, yes, I have and will post later.
