Sabbath Keeping

"...His banner over me is love."

"I stand fearlessly for small dogs,
the American flag, motherhood and the Bible.
That's why people love me." ~ Art Linkletter ~

"Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't carry just a piece of cloth to symbolize his belief in racial equality; he carried the American flag." ~ Adrian Cronauer

"The American flag is the most recognized symbol of freedom and democracy in the world."
~ Virginia Foxx ~

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American. ...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any many who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
~ President Theodore Roosevelt

"The American flag is the symbol of our freedom, national pride and history." ~ Mike Fitzpatrick
"We identify the flag with almost everything we hold dear on earth, peace, security, liberty, our family, our friends, our home. ... But when we look at our flag and behold it emblazoned with all our rights we must remember that it is equally a symbol of our duties. Every glory we associate with it is the result of duty done." ~ President Calvin Coolidge

National Flag day here

"Sure I wave the American flag. Do you know a better flag to wave? Sure I love my country with all her faults. I'm not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be." ~ John Wayne

"...give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar,
and give to God what belongs to God."

  6. Beautiful. Sadly, many come to our country now who don't want to assimilate and don't want to be American, they come to have a better life, but still bring their old life with them which often conflicts with our way of life. I think it's wonderful to keep traditions alive, to know one's language and costumes, but if it was all that wonderful, I do wonder why you've come.
