"The LORD is my shepherd,
I lack nothing."
~ Psalm 23:1 ~
"God has entrusted us with His most important possession...His people. He asks us to shepherd and mold them into strong disciples, with brave faith and good character." ~ John Ortberg ~
"The seaman tells stories of winds,
the ploughman of bulls
the soldier details his wounds,
the shepherd his sheep."
~ Laurence J. Peter ~
"Careless shepherd makes excellent dinner for wolf."
~ Earl Derr Biggers ~
"I am like the sick sheep that strays from the rest of the flock. Unless the Good Shepherd takes me on His shoulders and carries me back to His fold, my steps will falter, and in the very effort of rising, my feet will give way."
~ Eusebius Sophronius Hieronymus (Jerome) ~
"Bible study without Bible experience is pointless. Knowing Psalm 23 is different from knowing the shepherd." ~ Kingsley Opuwari Manuel ~
"It is the duty of a good shepherd to shear his sheep, not skin them."
~ Tiberius ~
"I (Jesus) am the good shepherd.
I know my own and my own know me,
just as the Father knows me and I know the Father;
and I lay down my life for the sheep.
And I have other sheep that are not of this fold.
I must bring them also,
and they will listen to my voice.
so there will be one flock, one shepherd."
~ John 10:1-16 ~
Please pray for ~ Mr. Williams and family (my nephew's grandfather has cancer and hospice is now serving him) ~
God bless Mr Williams with all he most needs now. I'm at the other side of Mr Manuel. I think I need to get way back into a whole lot of Bible study after too long a cop-out of telling myself that I'm Bible experiencing!
ReplyDeleteIt's a journey, Mags; a long and winding road.
DeleteThis is a beautiful and delightful post.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Connie :)
Connie, thank you for your gift of visiting and comment.
DeleteMaybe your I Am Sandra section has always been there and I've just missed it but I read it now and like it very much.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. Wham! Needed this morning, Sandra. Sharing it and the others with my husband this morning. Thank you.
Dewena, it's been there for a few years. How about a challenge? Describe yourself in 30 words and post it on your blog.
DeleteBecause the LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. Wonderful knowledge!
I'm smiling at your challenge, Sandra. It seems like we've both overlooked the other's I Am section! Mine has been at the top of Dewena's Window, right under the picture, since the beginning.
DeleteDewena, I've read yours almost every time I visit your blog...I was, mistakenly, associating it with "30 words"...my apology.
DeleteWonderful quotes and Scripture. I'm sorry about your nephew's grandfather. It is always so hard to say goodbye to someone we love. Prayers!
ReplyDeleteAnne, thank you for visiting and commenting. You're so right, it's always terrible hard to say good-bye, even when we know we'll see that Christian in heaven.
DeleteIt's always healthy to remember that we are sick sheep needing the care of the Shepherd lest we die!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra!
Gretchen, I miss my sheep.
DeleteWonderful - wonderful - wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd: I LOVE the photo very much! It's ME :)
Dori, we look like sisters and both love our sheep, horses and other animals.

ReplyDeleteAlways preaching to a choir of one...lol.
