Please continue to pray for Max's family and friends as we journey through the shadow lands ~
Oh, Grief!!!! It can be crippling sometimes---even when we KNOW that there is a place beyond the Great Divide where we will be reunited with those believers that have gone before us.
ReplyDeleteI do believe it is the price we pay for love. Blessings to you and I hope you have a wonderful week. xo Diana
Grief is the price God paid as well. Horrible to consider, isn't it?

Sherry, since Dave's death I have a couple of sayings, one is, "Death comes to us or for us, no one will escape." For those who are ready to spend eternity in Heaven, it's welcome but as Daddy likes to say, "I'm ready to go but I'm not homesick."
DeleteThese wise quotes are ones we hope we'll never need. When grief from the loss of beloved pets is so completely engulfing, the thought of loss of a loved one, for those who haven't yet, is something we're not brave enough to face before it's needed. But it is only the help that those who have walked this road before us that really helps when we face it too, as at least two of your quotes speak to.
ReplyDeleteI imagine, Sandra, that this fresh grief may bring back the pain of older griefs to you. I'm praying for you and for all those who miss your dear friend.
Dewena, after Dave's cancer was diagnosed, he would tell me, "No matter how ready or prepared one is for death, it's always a complete surprise when it occurs." He was right and while grief lessens, it never diminishes. How can that be?
DeleteAmen. A lot of special quotes. :)
