Sabbath Keeping

"In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was wtih God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came into being through him,
and without him not one thing came into being
What has come into being in him was life,
and the life was the light of all people."
~ John 1:1-4 ~

"If you wish to be on good terms with God, and have his grace direct your life, and come to the joy of love, then fix this name "Jesus" so firmly in your heart that it never leaves your thought. And when you speak to him using your customary name "Jesu," in your ear it will be joy, in your mouth honey, and in your heart melody, because it will seem joy to you to hear that name being pronounced, sweetness to speak it, cheer and singing to think it."  ~ St. Rose of Lima ~

"Lord, make possible for me by grace what is impossible to me by nature. You know that I am not able to endure very much, and that I am down-cast by the slightest difficulty. Grant that for your sake I may come to love and desire any hardship that puts me to the test, for salvation is brought to my soul when I undergo suffering and trouble for you."  ~ Thomas A. Kempis ~

"I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken."
~ Psalms 16:8 ~

"Ah! Lord Jesus, King of bliss, how shall I be eased? Who shall teach me and tell me that [thing] me needeth to know, if I may not at this time see it in Thee?" ~ Julian of Norwich ~

"Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth." ~ Psalms 86:11 ~

"Teach me, my Lord, to further go,
Than I think I am able,
Like Mary who didst bear our Lord,
In nothing but a stable.

When I am weak and cry out "No!"
Teach me, my Lord, to see
That where I think I cannot go.
There waits my God for me."  ~ E. C. M. ~
