~ lamb's ear ~
Aunt Bonnie used to say, “You're so thoughty!” when someone would speak a deep thought or do a kind deed. In her memory and spirit, here are offered Little Thoughty's, meant to amuse, make you think, give you a smile. When known, the author has been given.
“Live in such a way, you don't have to ask if you're in God's will.”
"If you're not going to snort, why even laugh?"
“Sometimes I pretend to be normal. but it's gets boring. so I go back to being me.”
“I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.”
"Set down my name, sir." ~ Pilgrim's Progress ~
"A retired husband is a wife's full time job."
"Smile! (It confuses people)"
"So far this is the oldest I've ever been."
"If the world were a logical place, men would ride sidesaddle."
~ Rita Mae Brown ~
"I have CDO. It's like OCD, but all the letters are in the order like they should be."
"Sarcasm. Just one more service I provide."
"People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough;
give the world the best you've go anyway.
You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway."
~ Mother Teresa ~
“When I run, I feel His pleasure.” ~ Eric Liddell ~
I ask you: what is it you do that you feel His pleasure?
Blessings ~ Aunt Bonnie ~ Little Thoughty's ~ wisdom ~ laughter ~ Him ~
Love the little thoughtys! And I've never heard that Rita Mae Brown quote - cute!
ReplyDeleteYour aunt was right: you ARE so thoughty!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you made me smile :o)))!
Thank you!
Hello Sandra and Dave:
ReplyDeleteWhat thought-provoking snippets you offer us here today.
The quotation from Mother Teresa is most powerful. Kindnesses which may never be returned, efforts which may never be rewarded and achievements which may never be recognised.....except in the eyes of God. Therein lies the very reason for continuing on life's rocky road. How true.
What a great post!! I loved all of the sayings and I have never seen lamb's ear only lamb's tongue-ha! It is beautiful. My sis and I used to say that (thoughty of you)all the time when we were young marrieds butI do not know where we ever heard the saying, so neat to hear it again.
ReplyDeletethanks also for your welcomed visit and comments♥♥♥
thoughty indeed - I tend to like "no matter where you go, there you are" - a line from The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension! I try to escape myself at times - but find it impossible - there is that slightly anxious chubby woman AGAIN.
ReplyDeleteBeing thought beats being weighty!
What a wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteI feel so blessed to have the family I have. God is in control and that always gives me comfort.
big hugs,
Barb
I love all of those, each one makes me laugh, but the men riding side saddle is by far the funnest. I know for a fact I am CDO :)
ReplyDeleteTruthfully when do I feel His pleasure? When in the split second in time, I think of serving others and not for my own benefit.
Have a lovely weekend.
I was quite amused! I did think deeply on some of these and they certainly did make me smile! But then, that is the way with all of your posts. I love reading them!
ReplyDeletePraying His rich blessings on you and Dave today!

ReplyDeleteSo much humour here in the sayings... Smile! (he he he) ...
Have a great weekend.
Always accept the thought that people are good & OK. It is only them who can make you think otherwise. Live well, Sandra & Dave...

Hi, I am kris - new to your blog came from "Farm Girl" she has the nicest blog friends - I thoughty thought I would lke to know you better - wink! Loved reading your thoughtys. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteLove them all, but especially 'so far this is as old as I've ever been'.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having good weather, and a happy day! :)
A very enjoyable post Sandra and cute saying Aunt Bonnie had!
ReplyDeleteI love that - you're so thoughty...
ReplyDeleteI especially like the lines from Mother Theresa. Do what is right anyway. Just assume you're not going to get the credit, the bonus, the applause or praise.Heck, you might even be arrested and penalized for it ~ doing what is right !Little Thoughty's..a new term to me, but a very good and descriptive one.
ReplyDeleteHey Neighbor ~ You've got your auntie's "thoughty" gene. Your home view is breathtaking. I've seen spots like that in my travels to Virginia, which I love. If not here,I'd be there. Yes, the fur children are what keep us moving around here. Often I love them more the people I actually know. Glad your getting that garden planted; its time. Love your thoughts - Debi
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasure to read this morning...thanks so much...I now have something to ponder for the rest of the day.
