Sabbath Keeping

"Vengeance is Mine, and retribution,
in due time their foot will slip;
for the day of their calamity is near,
And the impending things
are hastening upon them."

"Revenge, the sweetest morsel to the mouth
that ever was cooked in hell."
~ Walter Scott ~

"But men often mistake killing and revenge for justice.
They seldom have the stomach for justice."
~ Robert Jordan ~

"I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, heal'd by the same means, warm'd and cool'd by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is?
If you prick us, do we not bleed?
If you tickle us, do we not laugh?
If you poison us, do we not die?
And if you wrong us, do we not revenge?
If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that."  ~ William Shakespeare ~

"Beware the fury of a patient man."

"It is only those who have neither fired a shot or heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell."
~ William Tecumseh Sherman ~

"On wrongs, swift vengeance waits."

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." ~ P. M. Sir Winston Churchill ~

"We must all hang together,
or assuredly we shall all hang separately."

"We are at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it has been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening." ~ Ronald Reagan ~

"...and they cried out with a loud voice, saying,
"How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain
from judging and avenging our blood
on those who dwell on the earth?"

  3. Leave it to you to find these relevant quotations to quell our fear. We must soldier on. We will prevail for we are the righteous people, as are all the ones who have suffered so at the hands of these hideous, drug-crazed maniacs. Thank you for being YOU!

  4. Terrible tragedy. I do pray our leaders will show the kind of resolve that Churchill and Reagan showed during other times of tragedy. Blessings to you Sandra.

  8. I'm glad the reins are not in my hands. I don't have the wisdom to make these decisions, can only pray that those who have to will have it.

  9. OH this is unreal. When I was 17 I went to a club without my Mom knowing. Marty was with me every time something bad happened. No wonder Mamma disliked her. This night Marty's friend asked me to ride with his friend. (He just met the guy, little did I know)We were going to a Gambling club. I was excited. Well the guy started driving so fast, I kept looking behind, saying he was losing Marty. He whipped of next exit and we were on some lonely road, I was trying to jump out of the car and he hit me. We pulled up at a dark house on stilts and I was hanging on the steering wheel he pulling me by my waist. I scratched and hit him and started running down the isolated road. He tried to run me over with the car. There was a light on in a cottage I banged on the door and a Greek
couple let me in. I called a friend . Months later a box was delivered to my house. It was my purse. Mamma never knew. I told her I hit my eye on a car door.

  10. I am glad to be back in touch with you, but I lost all my Rosiedayze posts, so now I am on- tales from Janzi's world... look me up and stay tuned... Hopefully you have had a good quiet sunday, your post about the brother asking what you did all day, made me laugh out loud... meanwhile I am pleased you are still soldiering on after your loss, although I had had the impression that you might be selling up> Anyway, good luck for a good week starting tomorrow, and sending you hugs from across the pond.. janzi
