you will be punished by your anger."

  7. After going to a 12-step group for friends/family of alcoholics, since March 2000, I had the realization that some people are addicted to anger.

Anger as a way of life, a comfort zone. Little realizing their anger exposes their mental processes and fears, and smallness.

Love the Southern response to any burst of anger experienced from others, Bless your heart.

When I get angry, I automatically ask myself,'What am I afraid of?', 'What am I not doing for myself?', 'What can I do to change this?'.

Knowing where most anger comes from, in others, it's easier to, Detach with love, becoming a witness instead of participant.

"Don't rehearse your anger." Very nice.

So cute when my beloved cat, Laskett, gets mad at me. Dinner is late, or I've been gone for the weekend, leaving him with a pet sitter. Takes forever to get thru his anger wall, but I can't stand having him upset with me. His forgiveness is always a careful, and loving licking of my nose. Best gift ever !

  9. oh dear. I've vented some anger lately, and didn't practice the old count to 100 thing. Sigh . . . should have read your post first!

  10. You are not the only one, Deborah, I'm the same, who had this experience a few days ago :(

But this sentence is a good consolation:

"Anger is not the opposite of love, for the opposite of love is indifference. To be angry is to care tremendously. It is a signal that your caring extends beyond polite conversation, and that you are willing to risk a confrontation to share how you feel."
