When I sent you all a hasty note last night stating you'd received this award...I totally forgot the post wasn't going to be on-line until today. My apologies for making you hurry up and wait; it was totally unintentional but then, you always knew I was a low-tech geek! -smile-
You remember in 1985 when Sally Field won the Academy Award for Places in the Heart? A lot of people think she said, "You like me, you really like me!" But she didn't. What she did say was, "I haven't had an orthodox career, and I've wanted more than anything to have your respect. The first time I didn't feel it, but this time I feel it, and I can't deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!" She won in 1980 for Norma Rae, thus her reference to "the first time...".
So, to have someone give me an award, makes me feel honored in ways I can't even describe. To have someone say, "gosh, I enjoy your blog" makes me feel like I've been given a precious gift. A gift of time, a gift of words and I greatly appreciate the honor. And, if I feel this way and am, really, no one very special, there are others who, might, feel the very same way. The first award I was given, I passed it on to everyone and that was okay but...ummm...not really quite right. What's right is to pass it on to folks who make me feel like I've been given the gift of their time when I visit their blog. Like I've had a chat with someone special, with someone who is interesting and, yes, even exciting in their own way.
Don't you just love day lilies? They are So Cheerful!A few days ago, Cyndi at By The Light of the Moon, gave me the gift of One Lovely Blog Award but I have neglected putting it on my blog because...I just don't know how to get the button on my blog! sigh. Once again, being a low tech geek has stopped me cold. So, if you want to see what it looks like...look here and you'll see it's nice, very nice and I'm grateful. The deal is to pass it along to fifteen other blogs, in the hopes folks will visit all around and find someone else they enjoy reading and sharing a few moments of time. That's a good thing except I find so many of us are "like-minded" women bloggers and some are already spoken for -smile-.
The view from my hammock ~ If you find your name on this list and you don't accept awards, please, at least accept my apology. It's not my intent to attempt to give you something against your will; it's my aging eyes didn't pick up your "no award button" on your site -smile-.

Thank you Sandra! You are such a blessing to me. I always come away from reading your blog enriched and refreshed.
ReplyDeleteThank You Sandra! Today was the best day to get this award as I need to feel special right now and because of you, I do!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you Sandra for receiving a great AWARD!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing better at the techie part than I. You know how to post somebody elses blog name with a actual link that takes you to there site. I don't know how to do this yet.
My daughter taught me how to click on the wanted image to place on your own blog. Go the image you want,
right click on it.
The window that pops up will say save as is...
click on this.
On your computer if you have a folder where you store images, click on it to open folder then click another button that says save.
Then when working on lay out on post, you add the image from folder.
I hope I didn't confuse you with my techie challenge lingo.
Perhaps somebody at church will walk you through this.
God Bless and Thank you for the AWARD. I appreciate this! I will enjoy visiting the other sites and seeing what's happening.
O Happy Day to you,
~D~
Thanks for the award! I am honored.
ReplyDeleteI also have something waiting for you at my blog.
Thank you so much dear friend and congratulations on your award! It is very well deserved.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful surprise and what a treat to receive an award from someone who inspires me so much. I always eagerly look forward to your posts.
Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.
I forgot to add that the hubby thanks you as well for the compliment on his logo. He designed that for me (with a huge amount of patience!).
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog, and the lovely comments! You really made my day :)
ReplyDeleteI just love your site. Your farm, home, and philosophy on living are so similiar to ours! Although I do not sew or quilt-I'm not that talented!
We raise Arabians and have a foal due in a couple of weeks! I was very interested to read the background on the breed of horses you have!
Check out my post or today and you will meet a sweet kitten named Bella. Alas, another stray that showed up and we will keep, of course! She looks so much like your Emma!! Bella is cat #13! We also have three dogs but have taken over 30 to the No-Kill shelter in the last 4 1/2 years! All were just dumped on our farm...
How people can be so cruel and heartless is beyond me :(. My husband says everytime an animal is dumped here at our farm, God tells the little one to come to our door because we will care for it, one way or another!!
I look forward to getting to know you. I think "you are my kind of people"!
Blessings to you, and your many critters!
Misha
I most humbly accept your beautiful and heart warming award. Thank you! It has been over week since I posted anything new! Is there such a thing as blogger's block? Oh no.....
ReplyDeleteSandra, I have loved your blog since the first day I found it. You have a beautiful outlook on life and every one of your posts reflects the joy and pleasure you have found on your beautiful farm. I like to read blogs, but I especially like blogs written by strong women who embrace life and are committed to their life's path, like you are. I am so honored to receive an award but especially honored to receive one from you. It means more to me than you know. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhy I am honored to accept your award! You sound like me with the tech problems of putting an award on the blog. For that I rely on my husband, but I am learning and i suspect you are learning too! Thank-you!
ReplyDeleteOh, you are so kind!! What a lovely surprise! Thank you so much for such a great blog award!!
ReplyDeleteI need to go catch up on your blog here, but you know what? I ran across you a different way this week. I was trying to find some kind of local fiber festival to take my kids to this summer and I found your fabulous list in Google:
