Sabbath Keeping

 ~ March 6, 2011 snowstorm ~

"Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
~ Proverbs 27:17 ~

"If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." ~ Isaac Newton ~

"Remember upon the conduct of each depends the fate of all." ~ Alexander the Great ~

"A group becomes a team when each member is sure enough of himself and his contribution to praise the skills of the others." ~ Norman Shidle ~

"Many hands make light work." ~ proverb ~

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent." ~ John Donne ~

"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery ~

"But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you." ~ 1 Corinthians 12:20-21 ~

I'm breaking with tradition and ceasing "blessings" on Sabbath Keeping. Now, there will be a "Prayer Keeping" section; if you'd like your name, or initial, added to this list, please let me know either by commenting on this post or by a private e-mail. God knows you by name and knows your needs so just your name, added to each Sabbath Keeping post, will let me and others remember you in prayer. I still keep my private prayer list but will not post your name, or initial, publicly unless you request.

  1. I often use the analogy of standing on the shoulders of many great people before me.

How are you two doing this week? Are you getting any rest?

    Fondly,
    Glenda

  6. Fierce spring storms - we know they are followed by sunshine and new life - just not exactly when. Your quotes brought to mind the wonderful song:
And they'll know we are Christians by our love,
    By our Love,
Yes they'll know we are Christians by our love.

We will work with each other,
We will work side by side.
We will work with each other,
We will work side by side.
And we'll guard each man's dignity
    And save each man's pride.

  14. Sandra I do not know you personally rather that you are my sister in Christ which connects us more closely than meeting face to face. You truly inspire and lift others. May all the prayers carry you on wings of love. Abbey
