Sabbath Keeping

~ Levi, Lover Cat ~
"The Lord is slow to anger,
abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.
Yet, he does not leave the guilty unpunished."
~ Numbers 14:18

"When someone loves you,
the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name
 is safe in their mouth."
~ Billy, age 4

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore...So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."  ~ Rebecca, age 8 ~

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." ~ Karl, age 5 ~

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." ~ Chrissy, age 6 ~

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
~ Terri, age 4 ~

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is okay." ~ Danny, age 7 ~

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas
if you stop opening presents and listen."
~ Bobby, age 7 ~

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss."  ~ Emily, age 8 ~

"If you want to learn to love better,
you should start with a friend who you hate."
~ Nikka, age 6

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day."
~ Noelle, age 7 ~

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling...he was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."  ~ Cindy, age 8 ~

"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." ~ Clare, age 6 ~

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."  ~ Elaine, age 5 ~

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
~ Mary Ann, age 4 ~

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." ~ Lauren, age 4 ~

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you."  ~ Karen, age 7 ~

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
~ Mark, age 6 ~

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it.
But if you mean it, you should say it a lot.
People forget."
~ Jessica, age 8 ~

"Love is like a little old woman (Sandra) and a little old man (Dave) who are were still friends even after they know knew each other so well." ~ Tommy, age 6 ~

An elderly gentleman's wife died and his four year old neighbor saw him crying. The little boy went into his neighbor's yard, climbed into his neighbor's lap and just sat there. Later, the little boy's Mother asked what he said to the neighbor.

The little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

For all of you who have helped me cry, prayed for me, loved me this last year, since Dave died...may God bless you richly, well beyond your deserving and so much that your life overflows with blessings to give away.

"My command is this: love each other as I have loved you."
 ~ John 15:12 ~

  2. Thank you for letting me know about the 'no reply' option I am using at the moment for comments on my blog. I chose to keep it that way as I was having a lot of spamers using that option to violate my e-mail privacy. I just clicked on the email follow-up here on your comment section so any comments you send to me will automatically come to my email address. Let's see if it works!
Thank you and have a blessed day.

I enjoyed these quotes. You have been and will continue to be in my heart and prayers, Sandra. My post tonight about Kona coffee reminded you of precious Dave....it is the simple pleasures that are to be treasured....a shared cup of coffee. May God richly bless you in the coming week. With love, Mildred

  7. I love these quotes.Seen through a child's eyes, love is very obvious, and so simple.

(Dave & Sandra were in love...and still are.Only death separates them, but that is a temporary separation, and in God's timing.Soon, they'll be together with all God's children throughout eternity.)I pray for you Sandra, and thank God for you.

  9. Hello Sandra! Thanks for the encouragement with the knitting. I actually got the knit stitch down and am working on my first dishcloth. It's quite addicting! And relaxing. I'm so excited!

    "When someone loves you,
the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name
    is safe in their mouth."
    ~ Billy, age 4 ~

I think about how safe my name is in Jesus' mouth. Cause He loves me like no other.

May His blessings overtake you this week, dear friend.

  15. Thank you Sandra for taking time to visit my place, and about the stool with the painted art, I have painted wood barn style floors to then hand wax and buffing out seeing that yeas it works in protecting the art, but in some cases a good layering of matte sealer just finishes the art without yellowing it. The matte sealer protects with a harder finish and will not gather dirt, oils, grime, and so on, also scuffs on the bench will clean up much better.
    Thank you dearly for visiting.
I am now off to go read more of you, seeing that its been some time since my last visit.

    Beautiful week to you

Oh when I matte seal a piece, I buff the layers of sealer out with those buffing pads giving it that hand waxed finish to it.

  17. Amazing!

    This is my absolute favorite:

An elderly gentleman's wife died and his four year old neighbor saw him crying. The little boy went into his neighbor's yard, climbed into his neighbor's lap and just sat there. Later, the little boy's Mother asked what he said to the neighbor.

The little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

    And this follows immediately:

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."

  22. Hey Sandra, Just wanted to say thank you for all you share. I'm in WV helping with my mom, who is in the hospital. Things have been quite rough and we thought we had lost her about 3 times, due to a sever infection. She is slowly getting better, a little stronger every day, but still has miles to go before she will be ready to leave the hospital. We're taking turns staying with her at the hospital, since she has altzheimers and want's to pull her oxygen tube off.
I'm at my sisters trying to rest, which isn't going well due to a dysfunctional smoke alarm. I needed some comfort, some wisdom, and some encouragement from a Godly source, so I came to your Sabbath keeping. Thank you, once again for sharing your life as a Christian with me. HUGS
