Sabbath Keeping

"This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it."

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, savor you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I may, for it will not always be so.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky, and want more than all the world for your return."  ~ Mary Jean Irion ~
"Today you are you!
That is truer than true!
There is no one alive who is you-er than you!
"I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I am going to be happy in it." ~ Groucho Marx
"For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' And whenever the answer has been 'No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something." ~ Steve Jobs
"Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a
long time ago."  ~ Warren Buffet
"God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today.
Have you used one to say 'thank you?'"
"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its
strength." ~ Corrie ten Boom
"I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday. "
~ Abraham Lincoln
"Apparently there is nothing that cannot happen today." ~ Mark Twain ~

"While it is said,
Today if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts,
as in the provocation."

If you'd like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names are kept for one week; around the world, people are praying.

  4. Please add my sister Kristine. Oh, how I wish I could send her this post and encourage her to see the wisdom contained herein! But she would only get defensive and angry, and then return to her depression....

Jeanne, thank you, hope you visit again soon.

Avery, thank you and I am so sorry about your friend and her recent widowhood.

Rainey, Corrie ten Boom would know, wouldn't she? She was a remarkable woman.

Michelle, Kristine was added and hope she's doing better.
