Coconut Oil - To Your Good Health

Again, no photos because you need to see this video...now!

A while back, a friend sent me this video but, as some of you know, I have to go to town in order to use the library's DSL bandwidth.
The following information, and more, may be found here.
In the USA, there are approximately 5.4 million people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and, as we baby boomers age, that figure is expected to increase. In an interview, Dr. Mary Newport says that Alzheimer's "...appears to be a type of diabetes of the brain and it's a process that starts happening at least 10 or 20 years before you start having symptoms and it's very similar to type 1 or 2 diabetes in that you develop a problem with insulin.  Apparently, when brain cells use glucose as their fuel and when they don't get glucose, they eventually die.
Ketones is an alternative fuel and are metabolized in the liver after eating medium chain triglicerides. Ketones are found in coconut oil and coconut oil also improves cholesterol levels and has helped people with Parkinson's, ALS, epilepsy, autism, dementia and schizophrenia. Coconut oil is a natural antibiotic and kills bacteria and helps defend against viruses like herpes and HIV.
At England's Oxford University, Professor Kieran Clark is leading a team of biochemists in developing a ketone ester that is ten times greater than coconut oil. Clark says, "it's very expensive and we can't make very much of it ourselves. What we'd like is funding so we could actually scale up and make it. But of course there's no real profit in manufacturing stuff like that, and so people really don't want to fund that sort thing."
Do you find that as outrageous as I?
If President Obama is truly interested in health care, optimal, health care for USA citizens, I suggest he spend some of our hard earned tax dollars in support of Professor's Clarke's ketone ester. Instead of sending gifting f-17 fighter jets to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt...take that same money and fund developing Professor Clark's ketone ester.
Oh wait. That makes sense so...probably...it's not going to happen, right? It's enough to make me weep.

  1. Sandra, this is amazing. I watched the video all the way through. I had heard of coconut oil's good properties for the skin but never for serious health issues. As you know, my second husband was stricken with Alzheimer's, and I have a very good friend who has mild Parkinson's. This is wonderful news to me, and I'm going to get this miracle stuff tomorrow. Anyway, I love coconut! As we have always known, Mother Nature provides all we need...if we could only be wise enough to use all of it. My cup runneth over too...

  4. I just watched a similar video last night! We must be thinking about similar things. Hubs and I have been using/eating/cooking with coconut oil for the past month for all those good health reasons out there. One of our favorite ways to eat coconut oil is to make healthy, homemade dark chocolate. Yum!

I don't know if "healthcare" is really about health, but more about $$. I'm just sayin'.

  5. I am saying this - again and again - all you need to resolve the insanity in government is throw out the professionals and allow people who have met a payroll, paid bills and balanced a checkbook (does that sound like farmers, ranchers, small business owners???) do the job in half the time for a tenth the money!
btw - I buy organic coconut oil in large containers at Costco - reasonable price and great quality

  8. Great post Sandra. When I got really ill 15 months ago I learnt so much in a very short time. I discovered the video about coconut oil & The Weston A Price Foundation (they are fantastic!) & the importance of cultured foods since 90 percent of our immune system is housed in the gut. We are having a fascinating time making kombucha & realised the other day that the getting up in the night problem that had snuck up on Rob has entirely disappeared since he began drinking kombucha...& it costs almost nothing to make : )
I want to thank you to, on another tangent. When I faced a really yukky challenge this week I thought of you & your strength & directness & I found my own courage in a better way & I immediately knew what to do & dealt decisively.
You are are such a grand equipper!
Think I'll keep the below advice on the lower back thing handy just in case...thanks again!
    Much love Catherine x0x0x

  9. Hello Sandra:
We have never heard of Coconut Oil being used to treat serious medical complaints. How very interesting all of this is. And, by a coincidence, over the Christmas Holidays, we met some people living in Santa Fe who are developing sales of Coconut Water commercially. Although we had heard of Coconut Milk, we had not heard of its Water which also seems to be full of nutritional goodies!

  10. Sure wish I'd known about this while my mother was alive. I'm going to pick some up and add it to my own diet. Seems the Alzeimers and Parkinson's researchers would want to throw some money towards this. Depending on the government is hopeless. Thanks so much for sharing!

  11. Thanks for sharing this, I have it in my pantry but I didn't know about the Alzheimer and Parkinson's research.

  12. My husband and I watched the video last night after Blue Bloods was over, love Tom Selleck, and we got the jar out of the pantry that has languished there ever since our sons tried to get us to use it. We always sauté our steel oats in butter before cooking and add butter before eating but this video has made us determined to substitute the coconut oil as much as possible in everything we can. Real wakeup call. Thank you!

  14. I've been reading up on coconut oil recently too, and I kept coming back to it and began using a dab on a spot on my forehead which it seems to slowly be going away. Thank you for the reminder of what a marvelous natural substance coconut oil is. I buy Garden of Life organic coconut oil by Ruben Jordan.

  15. Marsha, you were the first person I thought of when I saw this video; hope it helps. I'm going to start using it, if I can find it locally.

Lady Jane, I'm going to start using it as well.

Pom, finding out about the coconut has been good, now to start using it!

Jody, it's about $$$, not about health and we'll leave it all behind when we die. DUH! The government is dumbing us down.

LindaSue, if it makes sense, the government won't allow it, that's for sure.

Lea, I'm going to start using it; sounds almost too good to be true.

Catherine, you are so kind and I'm so glad I was of help to you. Life is hard but we make it easier when we help each other.

Jane and Lance, finding out about coconut oil was a revelation; now to find some to buy!

Gail, it's amazing what God has provided for us in the form of nature.

Farm Girl, I'm going to start using it as soon as I can find it; sounds great!

Dewena, god has provided all we need if we could only figure it all out.

Glenda, desserts sound delicious, made with coconut oil even better.

Jill, thanks for letting me know the kind of coconut oil you buy. I haven't a clue where to purchase it but will start at Sam's Club...we don't have Costco's around here and can always buy it over the i-net.
